Our Grade 2 learners, at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai , took their first step into the world of letter writing through a joyful and meaningful activity. They wrote formal letters to the Head of School, Coordinator, Team Lead, teachers, Librarian, PE teacher, Art teacher, and Admin team, while others wrote informal letters to their parents and grandparents.
The children learned the difference between formal and informal letters and practised the correct format for each. They also addressed envelopes, making the experience realistic and exciting. In their letters, they expressed heartfelt gratitude, thanking each person for caring for them, guiding them, and making school a safe, happy place where they love coming every day.
The highlight of the activity was personally delivering their letters. With beaming smiles, they proudly shared that it was the first letter they had ever written and happily handed it to the recipients. Through this experience, they also discovered that letters were once an important means of communication before the digital age. This memorable activity helped our young learners appreciate the value of handwritten words while building confidence, communication skills, and meaningful connections with others.
