Meghdhanush – ELP 3B

The fairies put a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with a leprechaun to guard it! As mythical as this sound’s so is our rainbow!  An enigma!

The burst of tiny water molecules dancing in the sunlight gives way to a 7 coloured magical arc. And imagine in the eyes of a 4 year old the magic is amplified.

Seeing the seamless colored arc in the sky makes them wonder how it was formed and what caused them to look that way.

Today our ELP 3B children brought a rainbow to class with an experiment.

The child was given a CD, prism and a torch light. They flashed the white light on the CD and the prism and observed the vibrant colors. The reflected light made fabulous rainbow colors on the surface. As and when they change the direction of the CD, a variation in the design is seen. The experiment was also observed with a prism.

Experiments are hands on procedures that help in anchoring a deep rooted logic in young minds.

“Tell me I will forget

Show me and I may remember

Involve me and I will learn”

So next time when u see a rainbow name their colours and don’t forget to look for that pot of gold! We put it there!
