Meaningful counting – ELP 2A

Written by cpsglobalblog

Quantification is one of the first mathematical skills children must learn at the very early stage of number learning.Children learn through sensory exploration. When freedom, choice and the right medium is presented to the little ones, learning becomes an automatic process with little or minimal guidance mainly through experiential learning.

ELP 2 A children played couple of games at class to reinforce their understanding of associating quantity to numbers.  One-to-one correspondence is important in early year’s mathematics because it is the foundation of counting and without this knowledge and understanding any other mathematical concept is irrelevant. They were “number pockets “and “counting towers” that helped the children get a feel of the concept.

Simplified solutions for absolute learners!
