Less equal more – ELP 2B @ CPSGS ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

Most of the time we use math on day to day basis. It is easy to get our children thinking mathematically. We have to make sure that talking about math every day is as essential like reading. This is to show our kids’ math is everywhere we see. There are so many different topics our children learn throughout the year; just keeping up with each one can feel very overwhelming.

Our  ELP 2 b little darlings now know counting and writing numbers. Now they are ready to diversify and conceptualize. One such is more, less and equal.

We used everyday objects to teach the concept by breaking the task to simple steps. One must always keep in mind that some children require more concrete experiences over a longer period.

Learning targets were,

  • I can say which group has more by matching or counting the number of objects in both groups.
  • I can say which group has less by matching or counting the number of objects in both groups.
  • I can say when groups are equal by matching or counting.

This learning will again lead to greater or lesser number.
