Funny fish – ELP 3B @ CPSGS ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

Reading comprehension can be challenging for kids. They must master a number of key skills like decoding to fully understand reading. We read the story of funny fish in class, a very simple, well illustrated   story with an easy to understand vocabulary.

How many fish are there? What was the color of the fishes? Were the fish friends with each other?  Inferences children of ELP 3B had to come to just after looking at the cover page of the story.

They worked in pairs to read and summarize the essence of it.

Comprehension, or extracting meaning from what you read, is the ultimate goal of reading. Rather than passively reading text, our young readers analyzed, internalized and made it their own.
