“A true art of work is but a shadow of the divine perfection.”

-Michelangelo

The tapping and torching sounds of a sculptor at work spilled from a shed above the Bay of Bengal on a hot afternoon, signs that one of India’s most ambitious experiments in modern art is still thriving after more than three decades… Today Cholamandal named after an ancient dynasty that encouraged the arts is India’s largest self supporting art colony and one of the most successful in Asia. Our CPS Global school, Art and Design students of IG to A level visited the Cholamandal artist village on 6th of July to evoke their creative minds.

There was an aura within students when they listened to the guided explanation of artworks. This made them to pull their strings of creativity to sketch their favourite art. To our surprise, the students met one of the famous artists Mr.Nandan who is an expertise in the field of sculpture. He approached our students with much enthusiasm and explained the nuances of sculpture.
