Exploring the Time Period of a Simple Pendulum @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

During our IG Physics activity, students explored the concept of the time period of a simple pendulum through a hands-on experiment. Using a pendulum, a stopwatch, and measuring tools, they observed the pendulum’s oscillations and recorded the time taken for multiple swings.

To ensure accuracy, students repeated the experiment several times, calculated the average time period, and compared their observations. Through this investigation, they discovered that the length of the pendulum affects its time period, while the mass of the bob has little to no effect.

The activity encouraged students to think like scientists by making careful observations, collecting data, and drawing conclusions based on evidence. It also strengthened their practical skills, teamwork, and understanding of an important physics concept.

This engaging experiment demonstrated that learning becomes more meaningful when students explore scientific principles through real-life investigations.
