‘Old age: The crown of life, our play’s last act!’
Old age is a great time to sit back and enjoy your life. You are much wiser, people’s opinions do not easily fluster you, you are much more comfortable in your own skin and you have the freedom to do all the things you want to do. One such spirit was witnessed today by the CAIE 5 children at the Little Drops Old age Home.
We the family of CPSGS, took the children to an old age home to commemorate the ‘Joy of Giving Week’. The children were overwhelmed and super excited to meet the souls who are far advanced in years in terms of their age.
‘A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.’ A smile is what all these aged people seek. The innocent smiles of the children immediately brightened up their day and made them feel much younger than they are. Our children performed a short cultural show for them which was accepted wholeheartedly. They moved their feet to the steps of our kids, they sang along and their happiness knew no bounds. It was a heartwarming emotion which glittered and sparkled through their eyes.
Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.
The visit ended, when the kids gave away bedspreads to the people who were completely awestruck with their gestures. It was indeed one of the most emotional visits made by our children.
