“When seconds count, we are there first”

A pledge taken by the Students of CPS Global School, Anna Nagar, as they attended a Workshop on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. This session was led by Dr. Divya, Senior Consultant Emergency Department at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.

According to the American Heart Association, children as young as nine-years-old can learn and retain CPR training. As our school aims to inculcate all the life skills that are necessary for a 21st century learner, what better skill to teach than that which saves life itself.

The students were engaged actively to understand and demonstrate the procedures of CPR. They had hands on experience in following the steps to perform good quality CPR, which encompassed Scene safety, Call for help, Check for pulse, Compressions of 30: 2 breaths X 5 cycles. Dr. Divya also threw light on everyday situations where first aid can be given such as during Trauma and chocking and other areas where we can act as First responders.
