A double helping of Independence Day celebrations at CPS Global Thirumazhisai!

Written by cpsglobalblog

Freedom is sweet and especially so when shared. CPS Global Thirumazhisai observed the 75th Indian and 73rd Korean Independence Day on this beautiful morning. The fete started off with the hoisting of the Indian and Korean Flags virtually accompanied by the reverberating National Anthems of India and Korea respectively. It was a moment of pride with the whole school standing in attention and reverence. Kim Dahee of CAIE 8 rendered the Korean National Anthem along with our other Korean friends. The assembly had all the right ingredients of a spectacular show, from a skit, a song, a mélange of quotes and paintings by students to a fancy-dress display and much more. “Think Independently” was the school’s theme this year. We had entries from students and teachers alike expressing their perspective of freedom through quotes, poems, paintings, videos and catchy slogans. A thought-provoking skit on giving the national flag its due respect was performed by CAIE 5 students. Our teachers proved their mettle yet again by contributing to the celebrations. Ms. Suganya, dressed up as Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathiyar, rendered a speech brimming with patriotism. Vande Mataram was mellifluously rendered by Ms. Sofia with chaste Sanskrit diction! Our in-house poet Ms. Nirmala gave a poetic twist to the essence of freedom in the language of the land, sentamizh! The core of Indian culture, unity in diversity was expressed by our tiny tots of ELP dressed up in costumes of the different states of India. A quiz on the flags of different nations had everyone participating enthusiastically and conducted with utmost professionalism. In the true spirit of democracy, the results of the Student Council Elections (conducted the previous week) were announced. Last but not the least, the message from our HOS ma’am motivated all of us to open our minds to be free to speak out our thoughts as Freedom of mind is the proof of one’s existence. As we enter into another year of being free, we wish you all a Happy Independence Day! Wear your freedom well, responsibly and with pride. Jai Hind!
