Our Grade 2 learners explored the importance of reuse through an engaging hands-on activity. Using waste materials such as plastic bottles, newspapers, cardboard, coconut shell, bottle caps, and ice cream sticks, they transformed everyday items into useful and creative products. Their innovative projects included pencil stands, piggy banks, flower pots, paper bags, an octopus model, and many other unique creations.
During the reflection session, each child confidently shared their experience of planning and creating their project. They explained the materials they had used, the purpose of their creations, and how waste can be given a new life instead of being thrown away. Through this activity, students realised that everything around us is made from different materials, and that many of these materials can be reused to reduce waste and care for our environment. This meaningful learning experience nurtured creativity, problem-solving, and environmental responsibility. Most importantly, it inspired our young learners to make thoughtful choices and understand that even small actions can help create a cleaner and greener future.
