“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” — Benjamin Franklin

Learning English became an exciting adventure for our CIE 1 students as they participated in a fun-filled classroom activity on the topic “Verbs – Action Words.” The activity aimed to help students identify, understand, and confidently use action verbs through experiential learning, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable. The young learners enthusiastically enacted different verbs, transforming the classroom into a lively space of movement and laughter. Each child selected an action word and confidently demonstrated it through actions such as jumping, running, reading, dancing, clapping, sleeping, writing, and singing, while their classmates eagerly guessed the verb. This interactive approach helped students understand that verbs are words that describe actions.

The hands-on learning experience encouraged active participation, boosted confidence, enhanced speaking and listening skills, and strengthened vocabulary in an enjoyable way. It also fostered observation, teamwork, creative expression, and critical thinking as students carefully interpreted each action and identified the corresponding verb. Through play, movement, and performance, the students discovered that grammar can be interactive, enjoyable, and easy to understand. The session concluded with smiles, laughter, and a deeper understanding of action words, leaving our young learners eager to explore more exciting English language activities.
