From Volunteers to Environmental Stewards @ CPSGS Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

As part of the International Award for Young People (IAYP) Voluntary Service, Senior Secondary student volunteers commenced their six-month environmental volunteering journey at the ExNoRa Green Campus, Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Mogappair East. Marking the first phase of their sustained community engagement, the volunteers were guided by Mr. Arul Anand, a senior environmental mentor and sustainability advocate with ExNoRa, who introduced them to the organisation’s mission and the Miyawaki afforestation method, which has transformed 15,000 square feet of barren land into a thriving green ecosystem. Students actively participated in preparing seed balls using nutrient-rich soil, gaining hands-on experience in ecological restoration. The programme laid a strong foundation for their continuing service while reinforcing the values of environmental stewardship, community participation, and sustainable living.
