France’s National Day, La Fête Nationale, is celebrated annually on 14 July to commemorate the Storming of the Bastille in 1789, a defining event of the French Revolution. The day symbolises the enduring ideals of Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity), which continue to inspire democracy, unity, and human rights around the world. At CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, students marked this special occasion with a vibrant assembly celebrating the richness of the French language and culture. The event aimed to deepen students’ understanding of France’s history and heritage while fostering global awareness, cultural appreciation, and confidence in language learning.
The programme featured inspiring speeches, informative presentations, melodious French rhymes, and lively musical performances. Through these activities, students explored the significance of 14 July and reflected on the values that have shaped modern France. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and confident stage presence made the celebration both meaningful and memorable. Students participated actively in every segment of the assembly, demonstrating excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and confidence. Their performances reflected not only their language proficiency but also their appreciation of French traditions and culture.
