Developing Future Diplomats at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai

Written by cpsglobalblog

“Diplomacy is the art of building bridges through dialogue, understanding, and collaboration.”

CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai proudly celebrates the participation of Prasanna Vadhanan Purushothaman Latha and Prathaan K. T. of IG1 at Sir Mutha Model United Nations (SMMUN) 2026, held on 2nd and 3rd July 2026. The objective of participating in SMMUN was to provide students with a platform to develop their skills in diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, research, and global awareness. Prasanna represented the United States of America in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), where delegates debated solutions to challenges surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Prathaan represented Nepal in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in a frozen committee based on the historical events of the Sino-Indian War of 1962.

Throughout the two day conference, students actively engaged in committee debates, moderated and unmoderated caucuses, bloc formation, and resolution drafting. Beyond formal sessions, the social evening provided delegates with opportunities to network and build meaningful connections with peers from other schools. The experience strengthened students’ critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills while enhancing their understanding of international relations and diplomatic procedures. Although resolutions were not passed in either committee, both delegates demonstrated resilience and commitment throughout the conference.

A proud highlight of the event was Prathaan K. T. receiving a Verbal Mention for his commendable performance and active participation. CPS Global School congratulates both Prasanna and Prathaan for representing the school with confidence and dedication and looks forward to their continued success in future Model United Nations conferences.
