CPS Global, Thirumazhisai, hosted a Care and Safe awareness session for students from Grades 5 to 8. The session helped in fostering a supportive environment in the school community where girls could openly discuss menstruation, health, and well-being. The session created a safe, judgment-free space where girls confidently shared their experiences. Alongside these meaningful discussions, students explored the science behind menstruation and the menstrual cycle. Topics such as iron levels, inflammation and the importance of tracking one’s cycle helped students better understand and care for their bodies.
The session further covered necessary nutrition, hydration, sleep, yoga and natural dietary support. Recognising unusual symptoms and when medical attention is necessary were discussed. Students were encouraged to seek help from their immediate caretakers and healthcare professionals whenever they experienced unusual symptoms. Practical guidance focused on menstrual hygiene, the correct ways to use and dispose sanitary products were shared. Students learned the importance of changing pads regularly, and the infection-prone liabilities. They also examined the composition of conventional sanitary pads, discussing the presence of plastic and chemicals, while exploring healthier and sustainable alternatives.
At CPS Global, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. By combining scientific understanding with open dialogue and practical health education, the session empowered young learners to make informed decisions, care for their bodies with confidence, and challenge misconceptions surrounding menstruation.
