Curiosity sparked an exciting biology investigation as our Grade 7 learners explored how the size of alveoli influences the rate of diffusion. Using agar gel, students carefully created wells of different sizes and added coloured dye to observe how quickly it spread through the gel. As they recorded and compared their observations, learners discovered that structures with a greater surface area allow diffusion to occur more efficiently—just like the tiny alveoli in our lungs. This hands-on experiment transformed a scientific concept into a meaningful learning experience, encouraging students to think, question, and investigate like young scientists
