Learning is never complete without a fun activity! Classroom activities are not only enjoyable but also play a vital role in engaging children in active learning and reinforcing concepts.
One such activity was our Shopping Game. Each child was given the vowel “a” and asked to “shop” for a consonant to blend with it. As they walked around the classroom searching for the correct consonant, they enthusiastically formed vowel-consonant blends.
The activity brought excitement to the classroom while strengthening their phonics skills. By learning through play, the children gained a better understanding of blending and built their confidence in reading, making the lesson both meaningful and memorable.
