As part of ÉLAN, our school’s wellness initiative, an eye screening camp was organised for the support staff to promote awareness about eye health and encourage preventive care.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER). Faculty members and healthcare professionals from the Department of Optometry carried out the screenings with care and dedication, ensuring that each participant received individual attention and guidance.
Approximately 45 helpers and support staff members benefited from the programme. The screening included basic eye examinations and counselling on the importance of regular eye check-ups and the early detection of vision-related concerns.
The helpers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the faculty and healthcare team from SRIHER for their time, expertise, and commitment to community well-being. They also appreciated the enthusiastic support of student volunteers from Grades IX to XII, whose sense of responsibility and service embodied the true spirit of ÉLAN.
Through this meaningful initiative, ÉLAN continued its mission of fostering a culture of care, awareness, and wellness within the school community. The eye screening camp served as a thoughtful step towards recognising and supporting the well-being of the helpers who contribute significantly to the smooth functioning of school life every day.
