Scoops of Strategy Beyond Flavour at Ibaco @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

A select group of five AS Level students recently engaged in an insightful interaction with Mr. Mohanraj, Joint General Manager – National Sales and Operations at Ibaco. A seasoned operations leader with over two decades of cross-continental experience in the Food & Beverage sector, he brought both strategic depth and industry realism to the conversation. The students also had the opportunity to meet Mr. Vijay Babu, Zonal Manager – Sales, whose presence added further depth to the discussion.

The session unfolded as a well-balanced blend of discourse and indulgence, complemented by Ibaco’s signature ice cream offerings. Mr. Mohanraj provided a nuanced overview of the brand’s operational philosophy, underscoring customer satisfaction as its central tenet. He elaborated on the company’s reliance on data-driven insights to decode consumer behaviour, refine offerings, and cultivate sustained brand loyalty.

A defining aspect of Ibaco’s operational excellence, as highlighted during the interaction, is its unwavering commitment to consistency—ensuring uniform quality and taste across all outlets. This is systematically achieved through structured and continuous employee training. Further strengthening performance standards is a thoughtfully designed incentive-based framework that drives service excellence. Equally noteworthy is the brand’s rigorous adherence to hygiene protocols, reinforcing both trust and customer experience.

The dialogue was particularly compelling in its candid exploration of challenges—ranging from navigating competitive market dynamics to recalibrating marketing strategies in an evolving consumer landscape. Looking ahead, Mr. Mohanraj shared Ibaco’s forward-thinking vision, including international expansion and the introduction of innovative, first-of-their-kind flavours and formats.

A standout feature of the brand remains its highly customizable “make your own sundae” concept, enabling customers to craft a personalised dessert from an extensive matrix of flavours, sauces, and toppings—transforming consumption into an experiential engagement.

Beyond operational insights, the session offered meaningful takeaways for aspiring entrepreneurs and future professionals in the food and retail sectors. Emphasising adaptability, innovation, and resilience, Mr. Mohanraj’s perspectives extended well beyond the confines of the industry.

The interaction ultimately transcended a conventional learning experience, offering a layered understanding of business strategy, consumer engagement, and operational precision—redefining desserts as not merely products, but as carefully curated experiences.
