The Go Pachai Club had an enriching and inspiring academic year, during which students actively participated in a range of hands-on activities designed to promote environmental awareness, creativity, and sustainable living practices. The club served as a dynamic platform that enabled students to understand and appreciate the importance of eco-friendly alternatives through meaningful experiential learning throughout the year.
As part of promoting healthy eating habits and sustainable food choices, students explored the concept of nutrition through a practical activity in which they prepared green salads using fresh vegetables. This activity emphasized the importance of mindful consumption, reducing food waste, and adopting healthy lifestyle practices while also minimizing environmental impact.
Creativity and sustainability were effectively combined during the tie-dye activity, where students experimented with natural and fabric-friendly dyes. They transformed plain cloth into vibrant patterns while learning about eco-friendly colouring techniques and the environmental advantages of using sustainable alternatives in textile processes. In addition, students crafted eco-friendly candles using natural beeswax. To further reinforce environmental responsibility, they also created natural room fresheners using simple, eco-friendly ingredients, gaining awareness of the harmful effects associated with synthetic air fresheners.
The importance of reusing and repurposing materials was highlighted during the paper basket-making session. Students creatively transformed old newspapers and magazines into functional baskets, demonstrating the value of recycling and resourcefulness. Furthermore, discarded coconut shells were artistically repurposed into decorative pieces through painting, encouraging students to view waste materials as opportunities for creative expression.
The academic year concluded with the Go Pachai Club Culmination, which provided students with an opportunity to showcase the eco-friendly initiatives they had undertaken throughout the year. Students shared their experiences of converting their interests into meaningful, sustainable activities. The culmination not only celebrated the students’ efforts and achievements but also inspired the school community to take small yet significant steps toward protecting the environment and building a more sustainable future.
