From Curiosity to Publication: Rinu’s Journey into Regenerative Medicine @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

The journey from curiosity to publication became a meaningful and inspiring learning experience for Rinu, an IBDP Year 1 student with a strong interest in regenerative medicine.

Driven by her fascination with how the human body heals itself, Rinu chose to explore the regenerative limitations of humans and the scientific pathways researchers are investigating to overcome them. Her research culminated in a paper titled “Limb Regeneration Potential in Humans,” which was submitted to the International Journal of Science and Research.

After undergoing a rigorous double-blind peer review process, her paper was accepted for publication in Volume 14, Issue 9 of the journal — an impressive achievement for a Year 1 IBDP student. In her research, Rinu examined why humans have far more limited regenerative abilities compared to certain animals, such as salamanders and starfish. She also explored emerging scientific approaches, including stem cell research, biomaterials, and tissue engineering, that are being studied as potential solutions to these limitations.

Beyond the publication itself, this experience gave Rinu valuable insight into how scientific inquiry extends far beyond textbooks, evolving through experimentation, collaboration, and continuous research. It has further strengthened her academic interests and highlighted the importance of perseverance, curiosity, and critical thinking in the sciences.

We are proud to celebrate Rinu’s achievement and look forward to seeing how her passion for science continues to grow.
