Celebrating the Spirit of Madras at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai

Written by cpsglobalblog

Madras Day is celebrated every year on August 22 to commemorate the founding of the city of Chennai, formerly known as Madras, in 1639. The occasion highlights the city’s rich history, diverse culture, architectural marvels, and timeless traditions. It serves as a reminder for us to cherish our heritage, celebrate our city’s uniqueness, and take pride in its enduring legacy.

At CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, we embraced the spirit of Madras Day with great enthusiasm. To mark this special day, students brought photographs they had captured across Chennai, showcasing the city’s beauty, culture, and heritage. From iconic landmarks to everyday moments, the images transformed our school corridors into a vibrant gallery of memories and perspectives.

Adding to the celebrations, a special photo booth designed to capture the essence of Madras was set up in the front lobby. Each class gathered there to take a group photograph, creating cheerful memories and celebrating the bond of togetherness. The event not only paid tribute to our city’s glorious past but also nurtured a deep sense of pride and affection for Chennai among our students.
