Have you ever wondered why you weigh less on the Moon than on Earth, but your mass stays the same? Today in our lab the students of grade 6 explored this very question!

On Earth, the force of gravity is about 9.8 N/kg, which means a 1 kg object weighs about 9.8 Newtons.

Mass is constant, but weight is variable depending on gravity. Understanding this helps us appreciate how the universe works—and why astronauts can jump so high on the Moon!
