Creativity, Activity, Service

Creativity, activity, service (CAS) is one of the three essential elements that every student must complete as part of the Diploma Programme (DP). CAS involves students in a range of activities alongside their academic studies.

The three strands of CAS, which are often interwoven with particular activities, are characterized as follows:

Creativity: At CPS GS, we believe that every student is unique and holds different level of creativity. We instigate the creativity quotient of our IB DP students through 'various activities like Textile Art, Vegetable Carving, Setting up a Herbal Garden, Photography, Film making, Culinary arts, Music and Theatre.

Activity: "A healthy mind leads to a healthy living". For the physical exertion, we encourage our children to involve themselves into various sports activities - Skating, Archery, Football, Basketball, Swimming, Lawn tennis, Table tennis, Badminton and others.

Service: The CPS GS service program aims to provide students with abundant opportunities for enriching personal growth, enhanced civic awareness and a progressive global outlook. Some of the service activities are visiting old age home and orphanage, awareness campaigns for protecting the environment, endangered species, deforestation, children's rights, organizing medical camps. Thus students are encouraged to develop an approach of mutual and reciprocal interaction with the community.

Most of the CAS experiences are self-initiated, and students should engage in at least one CAS project. They ought to reflect on their CAS experiences as part of the DP, and provide evidence of achieving the seven learning outcomes listed below.
