The Day of the Dead!

Written by cpsglobalblog

The date of November 2 is very important for a few Spanish speaking countries as they celebrate Day of the Dead, el Día de Muertos. Spanish students at CPS Global School Thirumazhisai gathered this morning to put together an offering Altar, in honor of dearly departed. The Altar is a symbol of the love for family and it consists of flowers, incense, salt, water and candles, all surrounding the picture of a dear relative. The students then discussed similar traditions for Hindus, and even our Korean students taught us about their tradition of Jesa, or memorial for the dead. It was a wonderful cultural and customary learning experience for Spanish students.
