The first session of SEEDS Club was held on Tuesday (18th October 2022) and to say it was a roaring success is an understatement. The Club was initiated with its first wing “Diplomats Circle” by the secretaries Rohan (A level) and Amandeep (AS Level). It was definitely a crowd puller with a range of students across grades attending this wing activities. Rohan added insights to the engrossing discussions on nuances of debating, with stimulating questions such as “what qualities make up a good debater” and “how to present ideas in a way that reflects clarity of thought”. Thereafter, an impromptu mock debate was organised on a fascinating topic “THBT the influence of mythology is beneficial for society”.The volunteered debators were Dhruv Patel, Janice and Kushdeep on the preposition side and Dhiya Nainar, Vignesh and Amandeep on the Opposition side. This made all the members cudgel their brains, as they pondered over the points for each side. After the completion of the debate, a discussion began which in turn led to a feedback session from Rohan as he explained what went well in the debate but also how it could be improved. All in all, it was a highly fruitful session and there was a takeaway for every member.
