“Save the Rhino! Should we really debate about it ??” @ CPSGS ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

‘It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.’

We at CPS Global want to instill the quality of being inquisitive in our kids which would help them fill in their quench for knowledge.

The students of CAIE 5 debated on the topic ‘Legalization of Rhino Trade’. Debate sessions help our children to generate effective critical thinking along with building confidence and work on their speaking skills. It develops excellent oral and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, and effective tools for research, organization and presentation. It also helps the students to develop strategies to overcome fears of public speaking.

“Healthy debating enforces critical thinking principles – looking at things from the different angles, with increased perspective and less prejudgment.”

The facilitator divided the entire class into two groups, discussed the topic and asked one group to talk for the statement and the other to talk against the same. Students were then given enough time to prepare their arguments. The entire class participated and every child came up with an argument/ statement which made the debate session very interesting.
