Let’s have some rainbow activity by ELP 3.
A rainbow is an arc of colour in the sky that can be seen when the sun shines through falling rain…It is created when white light is bent (refracted) while entering a droplet of water, split into separate colours, and reflected back. Everybody loves a rainbow, especially small kids. A long time ago, people referred to rainbows as magical bridges across the sky full of colours. Children also look at rainbows as a magical thing. In fact, they may even ask you “Who drew the rainbow on the sky?”
Children of ELP 3 learnt about the rainbow – the seven colours in it, the directions in which it is visible, when and how it is formed. To inculcate the knowledge of rainbow a lot of activities were done in the class. The most engaging and interesting one of them all was the following. Long thin paper strips of the seven colours in the rainbow were cut and a paper cloud was given to the kids. They stuck the strips behind the paper cloud one by one to make the paper rainbow. They were also able to recognise the colours – VIBGYOR -Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red. To see a rainbow is delightful, to make your own rainbow is just pure bliss! A truly colourful learning activity by our ELP 3 learners. Let’s keep looking up, there may be rain and a rainbow waiting for you!!
