Make a circle round and round, Big and small, up and down,
Make a circle round and round, now sit down!
So we all gather in class together to play this game.
The game is “spider spin a web”. All they had to do was to pass a big ball of black yarn to each other to form a web. But it had one cardinal rule. They took turns in calling out their friend’s name they wanted to the yarn to be passed and tell us why they chose that person. And when everyone had their turn the result was a beautifully woven spider’s web where the message was loud and clear “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” …
Bug in the Rug was another game where each of them took turns to be the seeker and had to identify the hidden bug- (one of their class mate) hiding beneath a rug. Addressing someone by “hey”, or the class tutor as just plain “teacher “should gently pave way to addressing a person using their name at this stage in kindergarten.
1 hour, 2 games and infinite laughter moments!
