Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high

Into the heaven of freedom my father let my country awake

                                                                                      – Rabindranath Tagore

CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai celebrated the 74th Independence Day of India and the Korean Liberation Day, with stellar performances by the students. An event filled to the brim with mind-blowing art and talented pupils.

“A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes” -These words of Mahatma Gandhi are so apt for the students and teachers of CPS Global Thirumazhisai, who in the true spirit of freedom of the mind, made this event a grand success. The scarcity of options and resources did not deter the students from putting up a fantastic show. Each minute was entertaining, thanks to the proficient emcees who hosted the event incredibly well.

The celebrations started with the school prayer. The whole school stood in attention as the Indian and Korean National Anthems were played. Lee Geon Hee and Keshav S Kartha of IBYR2 spoke about the significance of Indian and Korean Independence Day respectively. Manassa V of CAIE7 mesmerized the virtual gathering with a beautiful rendition of a patriotic song in Tamil. Dance is art in motion- Schwetha Shankar of CAIE 8 set the virtual stage ablaze with her graceful steps for the patriotic number “Vande Mataram”. Our stalwarts, the tiny tots of ELP dressed up as National leaders and spoke about the selfless service of the freedom fighters. Following this was the virtual Art exhibit of posters and digital displays done by the students from ELP to IGYR1 and 2, on various themes like ‘Our National Symbols”, Poster designs and slogan writing in their mother tongue on COVID19. The kaleidoscope of colours left the audience awestruck, with the deep message conveyed in each work.  CPS Global School upped its game by launching the first of its’s kind, CAS project of IBYR2 students- a video on ‘Social Distancing and Precautionary Steps to be observed’, to flatten the COVID curve. The terrific celebration was wrapped by an enticing speech by our Head of School stressing on equality, freedom and peace.

Quoting Rabindranath Tagore before signing off, “Everything comes to us that belongs to us, if we create the capacity to receive it.” The sky is the limit for the CPS Global Thirumazhisai family! Jai Hind!
