You Only Get One “First Day of School”
It’s that time of year again! You wake up in a sweat, shaken from the dream where your clock doesn’t go off and you are late. You know what I’m referring to — “The First Day of School!” Whether veteran or rookie, we all have mixed feelings of excitement and fear about that day.
Children at CPS Global School were welcomed with a warm smile and lots of affection by the teachers. ‘First day of school’ has always been the much anticipated day by the students, parents and the management. It’s that time of the year, where our children walk in with their new pair of shoes, uniforms, bags and eyes filled with dreams.
Our children spent an interactive day with class advisor and co-class advisor. After getting into their own classes, children were made to feel at home through various ice breaking sessions. Every child was involved in making their own little take aways, which involved making book tags, name tags, lanterns, bag tags and what not. Students were very enthusiastic in making their take aways which helped them connect and build a rapport with their respective class advisors.
Children were then personally introduced to their subject facilitators and were briefed about the subject. After which, they were engaged in various activities like knowing their peers, team work, rapport sessions, watching videos and playing games. Every child walked back home with pride and a broad smile which exhibited their excitement to be back to school after an amazing vacation. We as CPS family believe that “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”
