Buoyant Festivities: DIWALI and Children’s Day @ CPS Global School Thirumazhisai

Written by cpsglobalblog

The day dawned with showers of blessings; a sign of prosperity and life. Diwali has always been an extravagant affair at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai. This year it has become all the more alluring with the added celebrations of Children's day. The virtual special assembly started with the significance of Diwali, the festival of lamps. Diwali is synonymous with sweets; our gourmet chefs from CAIE 6, 7 and 8 made fireless cooking sweets and treated us to a virtual gastronomical spread of mouth-watering Diwali Sweets. This was followed by an endearing awareness talk on eco-friendly Diwali by Aaradhana of CAIE2. To add more colours to the celebration, the students of CAIE 3, 4 and 5 exhibited their artistic talents through colourful Rangolis as they are an integral part of all Indian festivals.

Ever since the COVID scenario started, talk shows have been trending. Our IBYR1 and 2 students had a hilarious yet informative talk show on smokeless Diwali. The titles chosen by the students and their conveyance of the dialogues had the audience in splits and at the same time drove home the message that crackers should be avoided for a safe and healthy Diwali. The show stopper of the assembly was the declaration of results of Taal and Taragini 2020- Virtual Dance and Music Inter House competition of CPS Global School Thirumazhisai, presided over by the Special guest for the day Mr Bruce Lee. Mr Bruce Lee is a well- established Guitarist and has many accolades to his credit- to mention a few would be his works with Australian Directors Nigel Foote and Paul Harris. It was a great honour to have Mr Bruce Lee with us on the day of his latest Amazon release, Surya starrer movie Soorarai Potru. The videos of the winning entries of Taal and Tarangini added the zing factor to the festivities. We take great pride in the fact that IBYR1 students had undertaken a project – “Joy of Giving” as a part of their CAS initiative. CPS Global Thirumazisai family contributed generously towards the project to help the needy during this festive season. This Diwali CPS Global School held the beacon of hope aloft, because we believe that when we lighten a lamp for someone, it will also brighten our path.

Treading on this paved bright path, the day destined for an extravagant children’s day celebration. The entire teacher community settled on amusing the children with varied shows. The show came livelier with mixture of arts such as music, dance, poem, and Silambam. ‘There is a child in all of us’ – this was embarked when the teachers stammered and rolled their tongue to read TONGUE TWISTERS, a wave of smothered laughter spread among the children when they saw their teachers playing tongue twisters – some real fun was witnessed. To mark this day extraordinary, an exciting video was played through which the teachers expressed their extended love towards the children, by wishing them all with inspiring messages. The day’s celebrations came to an end with our beloved Head of School greeting the students and astonishing the entire team with her melodious singing. It was undeniably a day of Buoyant Festivities to be remembered for long!
